Olympiacos is by far the most successful club in Greece, having won a record 47 Greek Super Leagues (more than all the other clubs combined), a record 28 Greek Cups and a record 4 Greek Super Cups.

As of 2015, Olympiacos became the only club in the world to have won five or more consecutive league titles five times, a record praised by FIFA.

At the international level, Olympiacos was the 1st Greek club to participate in a European competition and to advance to the next round of any European competition. In 1963 the Reds won the Balkans Cup and became the 1st Greek club to have won an international competition.

In 2024 Olympiacos added the Crown Jewel to the clubs history by winning UEFA Conference League and becoming the 1st and only Greek club to have won an UEFA competition and the only club outside of the Big-4 to have won a continental title in the last 13 years. Within the same year, Thrylos also won UEFA Youth League and as of 2024 Olympiacos stands as the only club in the history of European football to have won UEFA competitions in both Men and Youth levels within the same season.

The reds are also the most widely supported club in Greece. In a 2019 analysis of the CIES Football Observatory, Olympiacos was found to have the 7th highest contribution to total league attendances in the world, during the 2013-2018 period.

Memorable Victories:
  •  In 2002-03, Olympiacos defeated then Champions League finalist Bayer 04 Leverkusen 6-2. That was the heaviest defeat of Leverkusen in European competitions at the time, and remained so until 2012.
  • In 2008-09, Olympiacos defeated Hertha BSC Berlin 4-0, which is the heaviest defeat of the German club in any continental competition.
  • In 2019-20, Olympiacos defeated Europa League finalist Arsenal 1-2 in Emirates. This was the first time ever the Gunners get knocked out of a continental competition after winning the first game away. It was also the first time in more than 20 years that Arsenal fails to advance to R16 of a european competition.
